Theme Basics

A Theme adds colour, fonts, and a Framework, to your Web Pages. Reusing a Theme over multiple Forms helps to achieve a consistent look and feel for your application.

A Theme can be created by right-clicking on a Folder or Project in the Entity Tree and selecting New > Theme from the context menu.

This opens a Create New Theme dialog. You can choose to create a blank Theme or download one from the Resource Hub.

It is highly recommended that you start by downloading a Theme and then customise it for your application rather than create a blank Theme.

Themes available to download from the Resource Hub are grouped by their Framework and then further divided into Families.

Theme Families group Themes that contain the same Framework, Property Sets and other styling features. When dynamically switching between Themes (see Switching Themes) it is recommended that they are from the same Theme Family.

If you select a Theme from the Resource Hub, a summary is displayed, including:

  • A description of the Theme.
  • An image gallery previewing the style of the Theme.
  • Its Framework.
  • Its supported Verj.io Versions.

Further information about each Theme is available on the Resource Hub.

Checking the Set as current Project's Theme checkbox will update the owning Project to use this new Theme. Checking the Set as Theme for new Projects checkbox will update your Workspace Preferences so all Projects subsequently created use this Theme.

Clicking OK downloads the selected Theme from the Resource Hub into your Workspace.

A Theme can also be downloaded when creating a new Project.

We recommend you read the Developing with Themes tutorial and follow its steps.
